Kevin Smith is a consultant and publisher with TEAM Resources, training, designing, and implementing professional development resources for credit union leaders. He facilitates strategic planning processes, teaches strategic governance to directors, and oversees the TEAM Resources board self-evaluation programs. Smith is coauthor of “A Credit Union Guide to Strategic Governance,” and he writes the monthly TEAM Resources blog. Previously, Smith worked as director of volunteer education at Credit Union National Association’s Center for Professional Development. He developed programs for executives, boards, and volunteers and created the CUNA Volunteer Certification Program, a competency-based program for boards and supervisory committees involving rigorous completion testing. Before joining CUNA, Smith taught at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He holds a master’s from DePaul University, Chicago, and a bachelor’s from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
