Lily Newfarmer serves as President and CEO of Tarrant County’s Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, where she has led the organization for more than 25 years. With over three decades in the credit union movement, Lily has dedicated her career to strengthening cooperative finance, advocating for small credit unions, and developing leaders within the industry.

Lily is committed to mentorship, collaboration, and ensuring that the perspectives of smaller credit unions are represented at the national level. She is a graduate of the University of Madrid, Spain, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Finance, a graduate of Southwest Credit Union Management School, and holds both the Credit Union Development Educator and International Credit Union Development Educator designations. She has also served as faculty at Southwest Credit Union Management School for more than 20 years and currently cofacilitates Cornerstone’s Principal and Philosophy Workshop.

Lily is a founding member and current Board Chair of the Credit Union Women’s Leadership Alliance (CUWLA). She serves on the Board of the Filene Research Institute, is the Vice Chair of CU Evolution (CUSO) and serves on the ACU’s Small Credit Union Committee. Her past service includes leadership roles with the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation, Cornerstone League, Filene’s Research Council, and multiple national and regional committees.

Lily was inducted into America’s Credit Union Museum’s “Credit Union Women Making History: Herstory” exhibit in 2022.

Courtney Moran is executive director of the Cornerstone Foundation, providing leadership and strategic direction based on the Foundation’s goals, philosophy, and mission. Moran promotes financial education among credit unions, educators, and partner organizations and oversees financial wellness, credit union development, grants and scholarships, and fundraising. She serves as an advisory board member of the University of Texas at Arlington’s Financial Literacy and Personal Finance Center and was elected to the TriUnity Foundation board. Moran earned a CUDE in 2009, an I-CUDE in 2013, and a CCUFC in 2012. Cornerstone named her the 2006 and 2019 “Manager of the Year” and Credit Union Magazine named her a Credit Union Rock Star in 2014.

As Owner of Purpose to Impact Consulting, Chad helps leaders connect strategy, relationships, and communication in ways that navigate complexity, improve alignment, and deepen trust. Clients value Chad’s ability to bring people together across perspectives and move ideas into action.

Chad holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and lives with his family in Wisconsin.

April Mobley, CUDE, is the Texas grassroots and PAC director for Cornerstone League. Her expertise includes grassroots and credit union advocacy, Advocacy 101 training, and PAC fundraising. She inspires and teaches individuals and groups to become more politically engaged through grassroots engagement . Mobley was instrumental in creating the UNITE grassroots program and is a lead planner and coordinator of Cornerstone’s premier advocacy events, such as Hike the Hill and governmental affairs conferences. Mobley also serves as Co-Chair on the AACUL (America Association of Credit Union Leagues) Political Finance Strategy Work Group and is a member of the AACUL Grassroots Strategy Work Group.

Taylor Murray is an experienced leader with over 25 years in the credit union industry. Since 2021, he has served as CEO of ServiStar Consulting, where he focuses on leadership and team development, improving sales and service cultures for credit unions across the US and Canada.

Before ServiStar, Taylor held key leadership roles at Baxter Credit Union (IL), Affinity Plus (MN) and Radiant Credit Union (FL). He has successfully led teams in sales, service, contact centers, business development and branch operations, with a focus on member-centric cultures, employee engagement and leadership development.

Taylor has been nationally recognized for thought leadership and innovation by America’s Credit Unions and the Filene Research Institute. He holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a BA from Columbia College. He is also a graduate of the CUES CEO Institute, the Credit Union Development Education program and Filene i3, earning the Certified Chief Executive and Credit Union Development Educator designations.

Jim Phelps

Jim Phelps serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer for the Cornerstone League, where he works closely with teams leading federal and state advocacy, communications, engagement, and foundation efforts across a five-state region representing more than 600 credit unions. With over 20 years of experience in public policy and financial services, Jim is nationally recognized for building coalitions, shaping legislative and regulatory strategy, and advancing the credit union movement’s priorities on issues such as taxation, payments, fraud, and charter modernization.

Throughout his career, Jim has led high-impact initiatives that have strengthened both the advocacy infrastructure and long-term sustainability of the credit union system. He has directed major federal and state campaigns, overseen successful modernization efforts, and built high-performing, multi-state teams aligned around a unified policy agenda. A Certified Association Executive, Jim is also an active contributor to national advocacy strategy through organizations such as America's Credit Unions and NASCUS. He is a frequent speaker on public policy, advocacy strategy, and the evolving role of credit unions in today’s financial services landscape.
